Buckle Up, America…It’s Going To Be A Bumpy Ride

Well, there’s no question now that we are in the midst of a civil war in this country.  And unfortunately now, for the foreseeable future, we are going to be living under one party rule…with one half of America trying everything they can to control, suppress and silence the other half of America.  And for the next two years, the Democrats will be doing as much as they possibly can to entrench themselves and fully solidify their power going forward. 

Wednesday, January 6^th, was an absolutely horrible day for this country (and there have been way too many of those types of days in our recent history).  Those individuals who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol building and caused death, injury and destruction need to be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  Whether the violence and damage at the Capitol building was caused by Antifa, by radical Trump-supporting revolutionaries or some other radical group, we do not yet really know at this time.  But the end result is the same.  In addition to the trail of death, injury and damage left behind by the violent few who were part of the massive and overwhelmingly peaceful crowd on Wednesday, both President Trump and the MAGA movement suffered a huge blow to their cause…and what little support President Trump had in Washington D.C. has now evaporated.  Even members of Trump’s own administration are resigning and abandoning ship.

And now after four years of attempts to delegitimize the Trump presidency and remove him from office, there is one final huge push to completely destroy President Trump and his legacy.  Those on the political left, and even some on the right, are blaming President Trump for revving up the crowd on Wednesday and inciting the violence that subsequently occurred at the U.S. Capitol building. 

President Trump is not responsible for the violence and damage which occurred at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday.  He did not tell the crowd to go attack the U.S. Capitol and cause death, injury and destruction.  President Trump was, though, firing up the crowd, and he was directing a lot of his rhetoric at those in Congress (both the Democrats and the “weak” Republicans).  Emotions in the crowd were running high, and the crowd was going to be heading over to the U.S. Capitol building after his speech to make their voices clearly heard (it is the “people’s house” after all).

However, among his other comments, President Trump also said the following in his speech that day: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” ¹  Note the word “peacefully.”  And to be clear, 99% of the crowd that went over to the U.S. Capitol building did in fact remain peaceful in their protesting. And let’s also be very clear on this point as well…the responsibility for the death, injury and destruction that occurred at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday lies solely and squarely with those specific individuals who actually caused such death, injury and destruction. There is too much of a tendency these days to transfer blame to someone other than those who are actually responsible for the conduct.  Take, for example, the violent riots carried out by Antifa and the Black Lives Matter organization in many cities last summer.  Those riots were characterized as “peaceful protests” and blame for the death, injury and destruction which resulted from those riots was laid almost everywhere other than at the feet of Antifa and BLM…those who were actually responsible for the death, injury and destruction that occurred in many of our cities.  In fact, the Democrats and their mouthpieces in the media did everything they could to justify the violence by Antifa and BLM. 

So why, then, lay the blame for what happened at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday at the feet of President Trump?  As usual, it’s about political power.  The Washington D.C. establishment (or, if you prefer, the “swamp”) cannot allow Trump to have the possibility of running for President again in 2024.  They want to make an example out of President Trump…and to also send a very clear message that they will not ever allow another outsider on the political right (like Trump was) to even consider running for President, or this is what will happen to them.

There have been calls by both Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority (soon to be Majority) Leader Chuck Schumer for Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment, or they will call for impeachment proceedings.²  Yes, you read that correctly…another round of impeachment proceedings against President Trump as a parting gift.

Many of you are likely thinking, there are now less than two weeks until the end of President Trump’s term…so why in the world bother at this point with pursuing either the 25th Amendment or with another round of impeachment proceedings, if President Trump will no longer be President of the United States in less than two weeks anyway? 

Well, there are a few obvious reasons.  First of all, as mentioned above, the Democrats (and many D.C. establishment Republicans) want to take steps to ensure that Trump will not be in a position to run for President again in 2024.  If he is impeached in the House, and found guilty and convicted in the Senate, then the conviction will carry with it that Trump will be precluded from holding any public office again.

In addition, they are likely taking this action because of history…the Democrats and establishment Republicans want Trump to be held accountable on the historical record for all time.  They want history to show that Trump was actually removed from office, instead of simply leaving office as normal at the expiration of his term. 

And another reason for this action is that the Democrats want to take away the “voice” of the other half of America that they do not yet control.  Trump has been that voice ever since he and Melania came down the escalator in Trump Tower in 2015 and he declared his candidacy for President.  By removing Trump from office, the Democrats also believe that they will be removing the collective voice of his voters and dismantling the MAGA movement.

Again, this is about sending a very clear message…both to Trump and to any other outsider who wants to run for President in order to preserve American traditional values, protect individual liberty and freedoms, and put America first…saying “don’t you even think about trying to do this ever again.”  Washington D.C. consists of a club of elitist career politicians, and they do not want any outsider (who is either a populist like Trump, or someone from the conservative right) to crash their party without going through the process and paying their dues.  It’s a club of largely corrupt, power-hungry political elites…and entry is restricted to any outsider to attempts to encroach on their turf.

Vice President Pence is not going to take action to invoke the 25th Amendment.  Pence has always been extremely loyal to President Trump, and he has acted with principle and on his Christian beliefs.  (By the way, as a side note, there is a need here to take a moment and stand up and applaud Vice President Pence for following the U.S. Constitution.  There are many Trump supporters who are angry with Pence and who believe that he also betrayed Trump, when Pence decided not to go along with Trump’s request for Pence to effectively overturn the election by rejecting the electoral votes from the handful of States where the election results were in dispute. Trump criticized Vice President Pence³ both in tweets and in his speech on Wednesday when Pence decided not to follow through on Trump’s request. However, Vice President Pence correctly determined that he did not have the Constitutional authority to do what President Trump wanted him to do.  Under the Twelfth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the Vice President, in his role as President of the Senate, simply serves the ceremonial/administrative function to “open all the certificates” (i.e., the certified results of the votes of the electors from each State) in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives and the votes are then counted.  Vice President Pence carried out his Constitutional duty, and should be applauded for doing so, and it was wrong for President Trump to criticize him for following the Constitution.)

With regard to Pelosi and Schumer’s threat to move forward to impeach President Trump a second time, however, that’s another story…the Democrats already control the House, and impeachment by the House will likely be almost a given.  In fact, they are drawing up new articles of impeachment as we speak, charging President Trump with “incitement of insurrection” and “willfully inciting violence against the government of the United States.”⁴  And with the D.C. Republicans running as fast as they can now to distance themselves from Trump, and Senate Majority (soon to be Minority) Leader Mitch McConnell already declaring Joe Biden the winner of the Presidential election days ago, it’s even possible now that the Senate could reach the two-thirds vote number necessary to declare Trump guilty and remove him from office (although it should be pointed out that there are procedural timing issues in the Senate which may prevent the Senate vote from happening until after the expiration of Trump’s term and the inauguration of Joe Biden as the next President).  

Dark days are ahead, it appears.  Buckle up, there is going to be a lot of turbulence.  We are now under one party rule, at least for the next two years. And the push by the progressive socialists (who hold the real power) will be to take this country hard left.

The “America First” agenda will be undone as much as possible and will be gone going forward and replaced with a globalist agenda.  And the history is already starting to be written regarding the Trump years.  We will be told by the Democrats and establishment Republicans, and their mouthpieces in the media (which has become like Pravda, for those of you who remember the media arm of the old Soviet Union) that the Trump years were a black mark in America’s history, that it was a hiccup and mistake by the American people, and that thankfully steps are now being taken to correct that mistake and make sure it never happens again.  We will be told that dignity is being restored to the office of the Presidency, and that America will be respected around the world again.  

The world apology tour that happened under President Obama will return. We will be told that America is rejoining the world again, and that we will make up for our past mistakes. We will rejoin the Paris Climate Accord and the WHO.  The sanctions on China will likely be scaled back or removed (after all, the Biden family, Big Tech, Big Pharma and other major corporations are tied there, of course).  Attempts will likely be made to try to reach a new nuclear deal with Iran. 

And here in our country, it will be full steam ahead with regard to far left agenda items, including things such as:  i) further restrictions on, and eradication of, our First Amendment rights of religious liberty, freedom of speech (totalitarian-like censorship is already being conducted by left-leaning Big Tech giants Twitter, Google, Facebook and others) and restrictions on the right to the peaceable assembly of certain groups detested by the left; ii) the “Green New Deal” and other climate change measures (which is really not about the climate or “saving the planet”, but rather is about control and transfer of wealth); iii) social justice measures, including support for the Black Lives Matter organization (which is really a radical Marxist movement); iv) gender identity laws and regulations; v) attempts to pack the Supreme Court to ensure a leftist majority on the Court; vi) further COVID-19 lockdowns and mandatory mask requirements (all in the name of health and safety, of course); vii) a push for D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood (which will likely mean four new Democrat senators, giving the Democrats solid control of the U.S. Senate); viii) amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants currently in this country (which likely also means millions of new Democrat voters immediately); ix) gun control laws and other restrictions on Second Amendment freedoms (and if the American people will not voluntarily give up their guns, maybe the Democrats will just impose a massive tax on the ammo), and x) tax increases (including rolling back the Trump tax cuts). 

With the radical left in power, the moral decline in this country will continue…and Christianity, the Constitution and our traditional American values will be under attack.  Sorry to be painting a very dark picture here…but now is not the time to have on rose-colored glasses.  We need to have a realistic mindset and prepare ourselves for what’s coming. 

A couple of more things to be aware of and keep in mind.  First of all, we no longer have equal justice under the law.  There are now clearly two sets of rules…one set for the ruling elites, the establishment, the wealthy on the left, and those certain categories of people who are politically or socially aligned with, or dependent upon, the ruling elites…and another set of rules for the rest of us.  And our set of rules are nowhere near as favorable, they are more onerous, and there is no margin for error.  We make a mistake, there are severe consequences (e.g., firings/resignations, censorship, cancel culture, Antifa riots, endless investigations, etc.). They make a mistake, there never seems to be any consequences or punishment (right, Hillary?).

The second thing to keep in mind…and please hear this one and make a mental note…is that with the way the so-called “news” is reported by the media, as well as further societal changes and new “norms” that will occur, and the cancel culture and groupthink forces applying their pressure, we will be put in a position where they want us to question what we already know to be true.  The simplest way to explain this is that we will be told that 2+2=5…when of course we know that 2+2=4.  In other words, we will see something with our own eyes, and we will know what it is that we see…but we will be told that it is something else.  They will say no, you are mistaken, or you must not be remembering correctly, or you didn’t learn it properly the first time.  They will say 2+2=5…and it has ALWAYS equaled 5.  They will attempt to cause us to question what we know, or what we see with our own eyes…and they will tell us that it is something else other than what we know it to be.  And if we continue to insist that we are correct, we will be marginalized and ostracized…told that we are wrong and, for example, that we are racist, a climate change denier, a homophobe, an extremist, a radical, a bigot, a religious zealot, or some other label they can pin on us. 

Here are a couple of specific recent examples of this tactic: 1) the violent and destructive riots by Antifa and BLM over the summer in several major cities…we saw with our own eyes the violence and destruction that was occurring, but we were told they were “peaceful protests” and the participants were simply expressing their justifiable anger and making their voices heard, and anyone who dared to question that was labeled as racist; and 2) we know there are only two genders (God made us male and female)…however, we are now being told by the liberal progressives that there are many genders, and that male and female pronouns and other designations are discriminatory and no longer permitted, and if we disagree with that then we are labeled as bigoted, sexist, misogynistic, etc.  So in other words, the grass is blue not green…and it’s ALWAYS been blue.  Don’t question it.  Get ready for us to be hit with a lot more of that kind of stuff.  The re-education and indoctrination program by the radical left is now going to be fully implemented. It’s already been happening in our public schools.

So what do we do? A few things. First, we need to stay grounded and hold onto what we know in fact to be true.  The one thing that is absolutely true is the Bible…God’s Word.  While history is being rewritten, things are changing, being redefined, and falling apart all around us, we know there is one thing that is unchanging and is fundamentally true, and that is God and His Word. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, and we know His Word is absolutely true.  So that continues to be our anchor and what we know is Truth and is the one thing on which we can never compromise or capitulate. 

And second, we as Christians and conservatives need to bind ourselves together, keep each other grounded, and support and stand with each other.  We are the ultimate targets, along with the Constitution.  This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and those who hate America as founded do so because of the traditional American values we hold that are based on those principles.  We will be further marginalized and attacked as close-minded bigots, religious zealots, and maybe eventually at some point claimed to be guilty of hate speech.  The more they can isolate us, the easier it will be for them to control us and silence us.  The more we band together with a strong and unified voice, and stand together with each other, the more power we will have to push back against their attempts to control and silence us. 

Also, we cannot respond to hate and anger directed at us with our own hate and anger. We must instead respond to hate and anger with love…and treat everyone the way that we would want to be treated.  That will cause us to stand out, and people will take notice and will be attracted to how we treat them differently. That then becomes an opportunity for us to try to reach them. Many things are out of our control…but one thing that we can control is how we treat people, thereby influencing those around us, and we can work to effect change in our little corner of the world. 

All of us in the silent majority can also now no longer afford to stay silent any longer.  We all need to step up and take some action to defend our individual rights, liberties and freedoms, to protect traditional American values and the Constitution.  For some of us, it means educating people (especially the younger generations who are not being taught in our public schools and universities) about the founding of this country, the Constitution and our governing structure, and the traditional American values and principles that made this country truly special, unique and great.  For others of us, it means stepping up and running for local office (e.g., school board, city or county office, etc.) in order to be in a position to start effecting the change we need.  For others still, it may mean joining or otherwise supporting groups and organizations that work to protect traditional American values and Constitutional liberties and freedoms.  And we also need to contact our elected representatives (both federal and state) and demand that our election voting methods, and vote count systems and processes, be legitimate, transparent and verifiable…so that every legal vote by American citizens are counted, and all illegal votes are discounted and rejected.

May God have mercy on this country, and those of us who place our trust in Him!  Thankfully, He is still on His throne and in control!  And as a result, He is our hope to help us stand strong through the difficult times which are to come.
