America, The Choice Is Yours…And It Has Never Been Clearer

Well, America, we’ve seen and heard enough from the Biden Administration and the Democratic leadership in Congress at this point where we can summarize and describe their governing agenda in ways that are directly opposite of President Trump’s slogans of “Make America Great Again” and “America First.”

In the case of the Biden Administration’s agenda, and that of the Democratic leadership in Congress, their governing agenda appears to be to “Make America Weak Again” (i.e., like during the Obama/Biden years) and to put “America Last.”

In just a few short months, President Biden and the Democrats have implemented, or proposed implementation of, numerous agenda items, including the following:

Energy and Climate Change – On his first day in office, President Biden catered to the socialist and globalist “Green New Deal” wing of his party and began the process of ending America’s energy independence, which had been finally achieved under President Trump.  With one stroke of his pen, President Biden signed an executive order canceling the Keystone XL pipeline and eliminating roughly 25,000 American energy jobs – supposedly in the name of “climate change” (even though the pipeline is a cleaner way of transporting fuel across the country than either by trucks or train). However, if this was really about “climate change” and saving the planet, then why did Biden just recently give the green light to Russia, and remove the sanctions allowing Russia to move forward with building its natural gas pipeline to Germany?¹ 

So, for those who are keeping score…Russia pipelines good, American pipelines bad, according to the Biden Administration.

And by the way, another point on the Russia pipeline issue…with Germany now in a position to get most of its energy from Russia, it means that Russia now will have incredible leverage over Germany, which also now will mean Russian influence into NATO as well.  

Also, as a side note, this pipeline issue is just one of many examples so far of President Biden accommodating the desires of the members of the socialist environmental left and “climate change” activists in his party who are pushing the Green New Deal and a globalist radical environmental policy (which, at its core, involves imposing restrictions on America and transferring wealth from America, while allowing the world’s largest polluters, like China, to continue unrestricted).  Of course, we know that the “climate change” agenda really isn’t about the climate or saving the planet for many reasons including the lack of restrictions on China and, as just one other example, the hypocritical conduct of most of the perceived top leaders of this movement…isn’t that right, John Kerry² (Biden’s so-called climate “Czar”…which itself is a little Russian lingo there) and Al Gore?³

Abortion – The Biden Administration is providing international funding for abortion. Just over a week into his presidency, President Biden signed an executive order reversing the Mexico City policy and allowing U.S. aid money to once again fund groups that provide or promote abortion around the world.⁴  This policy was first implemented by President Ronald Reagan in an attempt to ensure that American tax dollars were not used to fund abortion procedures in other countries.  And despite the fact that over three-quarters of all Americans (and even a majority in Biden’s own party) oppose using U.S. aid money to fund abortions in other countries, President Biden once again catered to the radical left elements of his party, such as Planned Parenthood, and as a result the U.S. is now helping to fund abortion procedures and the killing of unborn babies in other countries.  This is absolutely horrific, unconscionable and evil…the complete disregard for the sanctity of human life, by aiding and abetting the mass murder around the world of the most innocent of all among us, the unborn child.

Immigration – On the immigration issue, President Biden has implemented an open borders policy.  As a presidential candidate, Biden called for immigrants to “immediately surge to the border.”⁵  As a result, when he became President, there was an immediate flood of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border and coming into the United States. Large numbers of these illegal immigrants were wearing “Biden – Please Let Us In!”⁶ t-shirts (hmmm…wonder who paid for and handed out those shirts?).  

In addition, President Biden has voiced his support for the radical left position of abolishing I.C.E. (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement).  Biden told protesters chanting “Abolish ICE” in Georgia on April 29, 2021 that “I agree” and to “just give me 5 more days.” ⁷ 

Over two months ago, President Biden authorized Vice President Kamala Harris to handle the border crisis (although they still won’t even acknowledge that it is in fact a “crisis”).  At the time, President Biden said of Vice President Harris that “I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this” ⁸…and by “this”, he apparently meant “do nothing”, since Vice President Harris has been invisible on this issue since then, and she has yet to even visit the southern border to see for herself what the conditions on the ground are, or to speak with our border patrol agents.

COVID-19 – The Biden Administration (as well as the Democrats in Congress and Democrat governors) are continuing to support control measures in connection with the COVID-19 virus (e.g., mask mandates, social distancing, vaccine passports, etc.), all in the name of supposedly “following the science”…despite actual scientific data that does not support such restrictions.  As just one example, notice how states that removed lockdowns months ago (like Florida and Texas) have better COVID-19 numbers than states which are continuing their lockdowns (like California and New York).  

Also notice once again the hypocrisy of the Biden Administration…they continue to support mask wearing and social distancing restrictions, and American citizens continue to be locked down in many states, while the Biden Administration is knowingly allowing COVID-19 positive illegal immigrants to cross the border and travel freely to destinations unknown within the United States.  

As for our public schools, the Biden Administration’s Director of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), Rochelle Walensky, admitted that the CDC guidelines on school re-openings were influenced and based on pressure by Democrats and public teachers’ unions to keep the schools closed for in-person learning⁹…even though the scientific data clearly shows that children are at very low risk from COVID-19 and are not large spreaders of the virus.

Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project – The Biden Administration has aligned itself with the Black Lives Matter organization (BLM), the liberal teachers’ unions, and once again the radical left wing of the Democratic Party, to support the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT), the 1619 Project, the concept of “White privilege” (including the need to apologize for being White), and the BLM social justice curriculum in our public schools…as well as teaching this in corporation employee training programs and even in our military institutions.  This curriculum teaches, among other things, that slavery, not freedom and liberty, is the central and defining element of the founding of America. This curriculum also teaches the Marxist concept that you are either a member of the “privileged class” or the “oppressed class”…by using a neo-Marxist divider that is based on racial identity, instead of the traditional Marxist economic/working class divider.  

As a result, our public schools, as well as most of our universities, have now become Marxist and socialist propaganda teaching institutions.  The public school system no longer focuses on teaching core productive subjects like math, English, or the proper history of the founding of this country (including the Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution)…but instead are focusing their attention on the teaching of CRT, the BLM social justice ideology, and the 1619 Project (which teaches that the origin of America goes back to 1619, when the first slaves were brought across the Atlantic Ocean, and not 1776).  

CRT and the 1619 Project is blatant revisionist history, and the indoctrination and brainwashing of our younger generations, with the intent that they grow up to believe that America is inherently evil as founded and must be torn down and rebuilt with a new governing system (i.e., a Marxist, totalitarian system). It is also intended to foster a race war in this country.

President Joe Biden has been characterized as a “moderate”…but his agenda is aligned with the radical left

President Biden himself is pushing the “systemic racism” and anti-America narrative, and he is supporting the teaching of Critical Race Theory¹⁰ and the 1619 Project in the classroom…which is really ironic, given Biden’s own lengthy history of racist comments¹¹ (who could forget his comment on the campaign trail “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black”, or his comment back in 2008 referring to Barack Obama as the “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy”, and many other comments), as well as aligning himself and being friends with a known member of the Ku Klux Klan (i.e., former West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd) and known segregationists within the Democratic Party (i.e., J. William Fulbright, Herman Talmadge and James Eastland). 

Identity Politics – The Biden Administration and the Democrats continue to use “identity politics” as a major element of their governing agenda.  Identity politics is essentially dividing people into groups and slapping a label on them, where everything is about race and ethnicity (notice how everyone is some kind of hyphenated American…not just an American) or about gender identity.  In fact, the entire multiculturalism movement is based on categories and division.  The Democratic Party is the party with a policy agenda of segregation and racial division…and they are intentionally fostering and fueling this division.

Remember the words from the Bible and from Abraham Lincoln…“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”  So how do you tear down America (i.e., the “house”)?  You divide it.  And what is the best way to divide America?  Along racial and gender lines.  America used to be known as the “melting pot”…where people of all races and ethnicities would come to this country and assimilate, becoming part of what was a unique American culture.  However, the multiculturalism movement and identity politics are not about assimilation or the unique American culture.  They are instead about creating division and tearing down the unique American culture. 

Gender Identity – As another tactic of creating division, President Biden and the radical left are pushing forward the LGBTQ+ agenda, which is eroding the two natural gender categories of “male” and “female” and imposing instead numerous gender categories and new gender pronouns (for example, referring to a single person as “they”, because the person wants to identify as non-binary).  This is a deliberate attempt to tear down societal norms, create confusion and then to use language, cancel culture and other societal pressures to justify it.  This has the effect of people losing their natural identities and a true understanding of who they really are (i.e., God’s creation)…and if you don’t know who and what you really are, then you have nothing that truly grounds you.

Defund The Police – The Biden Administration (including Vice President Harris) and the radical left are demonizing police officers and supporting the “defund the police” movement – and we now see the resulting effects in our major cities, where violent crimes are spiking¹² (gee, what a shock).

Gun Control – At the same time the radical left is supporting the “defund the police” movement, they are also pushing for gun control restrictions and erosion of our Second Amendment rights.  In fact, President Biden’s nominee to be the Director of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), David Chipman, not only supports the ban of the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle¹³, one of the most popular and most-owned guns in America, but he and President Biden also support the proposed Senate bill that would ban more than 200 types of guns, including the AR-15.  This is an attempt by the government to grab more control over the people, all couched in the name of “safety.”  

But here’s the bottom line with regard to gun control laws…they only restrict the rights of law-abiding American citizens.  By definition, criminals do not abide by the law, and so gangs and other violent criminals will always find a way to get guns, regardless of what gun control laws are implemented. And we know the government will always have guns.  So once again, criminals will have guns. And the government will always have guns. That means it is the law-abiding citizens who will be less safe as a result of gun controls laws implemented by the government.  

And that is why the Founding Fathers in their brilliance wrote the Second Amendment into the Bill of Rights to the Constitution…to protect the American people’s right to defend themselves against an overreaching government. 

Taxes and Spending – The Biden Administration and the Democrats are pushing for massive tax increases, and also trillions in additional government spending (remember back in the good old days when it used to be “just” millions and billions in spending?!!).  And they are creating more and more people who are dependent upon the government to meet their needs, and incentivizing people not to work by continuing to provide ongoing “stimulus” benefits checks. Many people are currently making more money collecting government checks than they would earn by working.  That is creating an ever-growing dependent class in this country.

Government Power Grab – The Biden Administration is seeking more and more control and power in the hands of an ever-expanding government. In Biden’s speech to a joint session of Congress on April 28, 2021, he told the American people not to fear government intervention in our lives and said “We the People are the government.” ¹⁴  

No, President Biden, you are wrong, and you need to re-read (or maybe, read for the first time) the U.S. Constitution. “We the People” means “the people” of the United States, NOT the government.  We do not live in a dictatorship or communist system (at least not yet). The government works for the people, and those in government serve at the will of the people.  But unfortunately, President Biden expressed what most in government believe…that they in government are the source of power. And unfortunately, people in this country are no longer being taught the Constitution and the system set up by our Founding Fathers, including the notion that those in government work for the people, and that the power resides with the people and is delegated on a limited basis to the government as provided under the Constitution.

Controlling Elections – President Biden and the Democratic Party leadership are also attempting to federalize the election process under House of Representatives bill known as HR 1. House bill H.R. 1 entitled “For The People Act” (which, like so many things in government, is a misnomer, since it’s not really “for the people”) would be a massive shift of power and control to the federal government. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are attempting a massive power grab to federalize the election rules, which are granted to the state legislatures under the U.S. Constitution.   (Note: for a more detailed description of some of the elements which are included in HR 1, please see the blog article “Can Election Results Ever Be Trusted Again?”)

Iran Nuclear Deal – The Biden Administration is interested in re-entering the disastrous Iran nuclear deal that was originally entered into by President Obama.  This deal was very disadvantageous to the U.S. and allowed Iran to continue pursuing the development of a nuclear weapon.  Iran also used massive amounts of money received from America to fund terrorist groups backed by Iran – such as Hamas, which has been recently attacking America’s ally in the region, Israel.

AOC and “The Squad” are attempting to take America down a Marxist path, and they are also making anti-Semitic remarks against our staunch ally Israel and showing their support for Palestinian and Iranian-backed terrorist organizations.

Censorship – The Big Tech social media giants (including Facebook, Twitter and Google) have aligned themselves with, and are supporting, the Biden Administration, the Democrats, and leftist organizations that are controlling free speech by way of the cancel culture, and through the censorship and silencing of any viewpoint that does not agree with their position.

D.C. Statehood – President Biden and the Democratic leadership is pushing for D.C. statehood for the District of Columbia, for the sole purpose of getting two additional Democrat senators in the U.S. Senate and further entrenching the Democrats’ hold on power.

Court Packing – The Democrats and the radical left are also looking to pack the U.S. Supreme Court – which, if successful, would completely undermine the legitimacy of the judicial branch and the Constitutional separation of powers, and would effectively create a second legislative branch in addition to Congress that would function essentially as a political super-legislature.  

The Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, understood that the natural human condition for those people who aspire to political leadership is in the direction of tyrannical rule. That is why in their brilliance they created a system of three independent branches of government, with separation of powers and a system of checks and balances on each branch, so that power could not easily be consolidated into the hands of the few that would ultimately lead to tyranny.  The packing of the U.S. Supreme Court would be the latest in a long line of efforts to undermine the Constitution and system of government established by the Founding Fathers.

Wow, that is one long list! The Biden Administration and the Democratic Party leadership have definitely been busy (in such a short period of time), and it is certainly a radical leftist agenda.  This is the path that the Biden Administration and the Democratic Party leadership is trying to take America down. It is also a path that will lead to the destruction of America as founded and its fundamental principles of individual liberty and freedom.  And they are trying to cram this agenda down our collective throats.

Feeling despondent yet?  Well, thankfully, there is a way out and another path for America that we can choose…and that is the path of constitutional conservatism.  And it is vitally important for us, and especially for those of us who are Christian conservatives, to start teaching and spreading to those around us the message about what constitutes the conservate agenda and what it means to be a conservative.

So what is the conservative agenda and what does it mean to be a conservative?  

Well, for starters, President Ronald Reagan captured a fundamental element of it when he said in his first inaugural address that “Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem.”

More specifically, those of us who view ourselves as conservatives can agree with most, if not all, of the following set of ideas and principles: 

• For those of us who are Christian conservatives in particular, the belief in and love of God as the Creator, the Giver of life, the source of Truth, and in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.  Also, a belief in moral absolutes, in fundamental truths, and in right and wrong, all grounded in the foundation of Biblical principles. 
• Freedom and Liberty for ALL people – including unalienable rights acknowledged by our Founding Fathers as “endowed” (i.e., given or bestowed) by our Creator (not the government) to all people of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
• Adherence to the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights – our Constitution, as amended, is the foundational and paramount governing document of the American system of government.  The Bill of Rights (i.e., the first ten Amendments to the Constitution) places limits on the government, reserves fundamental rights to the people and protects the people against an overreaching government.  We need to get back to a place where our political leaders are pressured and required by the citizens of this country to adhere to and govern within the limits of the Constitution, as amended.
• Government is there to PROTECT our rights…NOT to GIVE us our rights.  Unfortunately, because the Constitution is no longer being properly taught in our public schools, the majority of the people in this country may very well now believe that our rights come from government. Conservatives need to spread the message that the Constitution provides that the power in this country resides with the people and is delegated on a limited basis to those we elect to represent us in government.
• Individual rights (versus majority or mob rule). America is a representative republic, not a democracy (which, in essence, is majority or mob rule).  And the people grant certain limited authority and responsibilities to the government under the Constitution…it is not the government that grants fundamental rights to the people.  It is the government that works for the people, not the other way around.  Unfortunately, too many people in this country do not realize that and have not been taught this principle.
• Religious freedom – this is the very first right mentioned in the First Amendment under the Bill of Rights to the Constitution, which indicates the paramount importance that the Founding Fathers placed upon this right. The specific text is “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” (emphasis added).  Way too often the last part of this right is ignored by our governmental lawmakers.
• Freedom of speech (another fundamental right under the First Amendment) and the rejection of censorship, groupthink and the cancel culture.
• Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms and the right to defend oneself.  It is extremely important that the citizens of this country understand that our rights under the Second Amendment is what protects and secures all of our other rights under our Constitution, including the Bill of Rights and all other Amendments.  Without the Second Amendment, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms, the government will be able to force its will on the people, which will lead to tyranny and totalitarianism.
• Pro-Life – the right to life for all people (which is one of our unalienable rights) and the value of ALL human life, including the unborn.
• Strive to treat other people the way that we would want to be treated, and the uncompromising duty to treat others with respect and compassion.
• Strive to fulfill Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream…where people are judged on the content of their character, not the color of their skin.  Critical Race Theory, the BLM movement, and identity politics teach the exact opposite of what Martin Luther King, Jr. believed.
• Speaking of which, get rid of identity politics. The radical left is absolutely obsessed with race…and they have made everything about race.  And identity politics is about putting people in boxes and slapping a label on them.  In other words, dividing and segregating people.  Getting rid of this venomous identity politics, and seeing everyone as equal and as God’s creation, will help bring about the actual unity that this country so desperately needs.
• By the same token, also remove Critical Race Theory, the notion of White privilege, and BLM Marxist social justice training programs from our corporate employee training programs, governmental and military institutions, and other societal institutions.
• School choice and a voucher system – parents need an alternative to the indoctrination and brainwashing propaganda of the public school curriculum.  They need to be able to place their children in schools where there is teaching of the accurate history (both the good and the bad) of America from its true founding, as well as a productive curriculum that teaches core subjects of math, English, etc., and where Critical Race Theory, the 1619 Project and BLM Marxist social justice curriculum are not taught in the classroom.  A majority of the inner-city minority communities in our country are in favor of school choice.  The Democratic Party is strongly against school choice, because they want to force the children to attend public school, where the left has control of the curriculum.  The Democratic Party also needs to have a permanent underclass that is dependent upon the government…and forcing minority students into the inner-city public school system is one way to maintain that dependency and control. School choice is a way to break that cycle and to give students the opportunity to get a quality education and to give them the tools that can help them succeed.  It is critical to break the public school monopoly.
• The paramount importance of the two-parent nuclear family unit, with both a mother and a father lovingly present and involved, as generally the best structure and environment for nurturing and raising children.  This is a concept which is expressly rejected by the Marxist BLM movement…because under a Marxist system, the concept of the nuclear family is eliminated, children are taught to spy on their parents, and the government replaces the parental system.
• Legitimacy of voting – it is essential that we have voter photo ID for all registered voters (which the vast majority of people, including those in the minority communities, support), and that all citizens who have a legal right to vote are able to vote.  There also need to be measures to eliminate voter fraud (and a voter photo ID for all registered voters will go a long way to eliminating much of the voter fraud), as well as a return to the Constitutional principle that gives the right to the state legislature to establish the voting rules in each state (i.e., not the federal government, or the state governors or state courts).
• Strong military and national defense, based upon President Reagan’s “Peace through Strength” defense strategy model.  Providing for the common defense is a fundamental duty of the government under the Constitution. And having the strongest, most powerful military in the world, with the most advanced, cutting-edge military technology, weaponry and defense systems, will help to ensure the safety and security of this country.
• Constitutional originalist judges – judges who interpret the law, based on and subject to the Constitution, and who do not legislate from the bench.
• Law and order – a society that does not have law and order is not a functioning society.  It is instead anarchy, which is what groups like Antifa are attempting to achieve (and we’ve recently seen how violent, ugly and dangerous that looks). While there are bad apples in nearly every group or organization, and they need to be rooted out and punished, we must continue to stand with, and show strong support for, our police and law enforcement officers, and categorically reject the radical left’s dangerous “defund the police” movement. In addition, there needs to be swift and strong punishment for those who commit violent crimes…not the “no bail” revolving door for criminals like they have in New York City, or letting violent criminals out of prison early so they can get back on the streets, like what the dangerous George Soros-backed Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón is doing. If there are effectively no consequences for committing violent acts, then the message for violent offenders is that they have a green light to commit even more violent acts against innocent people.
• Secure borders – we should finish the border wall that was largely completed under President Trump, and implement an efficient, well-managed and secure immigration system, which allows for the entry of legal immigrants into the country, and where this country knows who all are entering this country and why.
• Energy independence – we need to get back to a policy of America being energy independent, which we had finally achieved under President Trump.  America is vulnerable and less safe as long as we are dependent on another country or countries to provide our energy needs.  And like it or not, you Green New Deal proponents, oil and other fossil fuels are still the lifeblood that drives this country and our economy.
• Free and fair trade, grounded in capitalism and free market “supply and demand”.
• Limited government – less government regulation and bureaucracy.
• Lower taxes – putting less money in the hands of government, and more money in the wallets of working people, who can use that money for pouring back into the economy through spending, or they can save or invest it for their future needs.
• Less government spending – seriously, continuing to spend “trillions” of dollars is simply unsustainable…and a day of reckoning will come.
• Stand with Israel and our other allies – we must continue to stand with our allies around the world, and in particular, it is vital that we continue to support and defend Israel and God’s “chosen people.”

So, there you have it, America…two sets of governing agendas, values and principles.  Which agenda, and set of values and principles, do you believe in and want to see implemented in this country?  The choice, America, is yours…and it has never been clearer.
